The #1 Way for Working Moms to Keep a Clear Mind
despite having a webinar, 2 soccer games and a class party at school
If you’ve ever completely forgotten what you were doing on a walk from the kitchen to the living room - you may need to see a doctor be human.
Not all of life’s greatest distractions are literal squirrels running across the street in front of you.
In fact, most distractions aren’t from anything external at all…
“The call is coming from inside the house!!!”
Your mind is for having ideas, not keeping them.
A woman’s brain is a wild place to be…
And one thing I know about you is that your ideas are way too good to just let them all float away because the dentist called with your appointment reminder.
There’s too much at stake, whether it’s the idea that will transform your upcoming webinar or the snacks you’re supposed to be bringing to tee ball tonight.
THE #1 WAY TO REDUCE DISTRACTIONS AND FOLLOW THROUGH ON YOUR IDEAS:
Drumroll, please…
THE BRAIN DUMP
Brain dumps are exactly what they sound like… dumping everything out of your brain and writing it down in one place.
Like journaling, but on a deadline. Giving yourself 10 minutes to clear the chaos is the quickest way to make space for new ideas and prompt your brain’s most creative thinking.
(Pssst, the time limit is actually key. With no constraint, you’re really just journaling. We love her but she’s not a brain dump.)
An empty brain is a productive brain, and the more stuff we get out of our heads, the more clearly we think.
Here’s how to do it:
Dump
Organize
Prioritize
Execute
Research has tied having a clear mind to better sleep, lower levels of stress and anxiety, increased creativity, and higher productivity.
Sign us up for all of those things.
Getting in the habit of brain dumping first thing in the morning, right before you go to bed, or immediately after receiving a lot of information can ensure that none of your million dollar ideas fall through the cracks.
We’re having ideas and keeping them, too.
