SUE ME FOR WANTING THE BEST FOR PEOPLE

If you struggle with just wanting to give all your juice away, there’s one psychological principle you should know about… and it’s called The Endowment Effect.

Studies have consistently shown that people actually place a higher value on something they pay for, versus something they got for freeeven if it’s the exact same thing.

Let me put it this way:

Someone could hear the exact same information - once for free and once paying for it - and they will value AND RETAIN the paid version more than the free one.

I believe it, because I’ve seen it.

In the early days of business, we gifted enrollment into a signature offer to 3 people over the span of about 2 years.

0 of the 3 ever showed up to one single module of the course.

It’s not their fault - it was ours!

Turns out, thinking you’re being really sweet and kind and gracious doesn’t matter. People don’t value things that are free and that’s just a fact.

We’ve never given enrollment in a signature offer away ever again. We love you too much.

Understanding this as a consumer should make you excited to pay for a product or service that you deem worthy and that you want the most out of.

As the person charging, it can feel noble to desire impact over revenue. But you won’t get one without the other.

Paying customers pay attention.

Customers who pay attention will experience transformation.

Your impact literally depends on people who pay.

🔥 Pro tip: There can for sure be exceptions, I get it. In a case where you want to help someone who truly doesn’t have resources, see if you can have them pay any amount with the promise of giving it back once the training/course/service is completed. The more they need you, the more they need to have something on the line to experience transformation.
