The Group Pic Phenomenon

why we have to stop blaming the besties for posting the one where you had your eyes closed and 3 chins...

**YOUR FRIEND GROUP TAKES A PIC**

Everyone: okay let’s see it!!!!

Sally: I’ve seen better

Susie: OMFG DELETE IT

Sharon: YAS I’M POSTING IT

Sound familiar?

The girlies everywhere know this feeling NOT because we all have the absolute worst besties, but because it’s science.

See the group pic phenomenon is just one example of our innate nature to only care about ourselves.

Like bestie I had my eyes closed and 3 chins, why would you post that?

I know the answer. Because SHE looked GOOD.

It’s not bad. Or good. It’s just human.

The same is true for your sales conversations… and quite literally every conversation you will have today assuming it’s with a human.

Your co-workers, your spouse, your barista, your mom, please don’t get me started on the kids… Do you have any doubt whose interest they have in mind? Have you ever talked to a toddler? When the floor is lava at our house, I AM BURNING.

Your clients. Your prospects.

Nobody cares about what your product or service has done for you. They care about what it can do for THEM.

Remember this as you write your next caption, record your next reel or finalize your next service guide.

Less “I” ➡️ More “You”

Small change with big impact.

For the record: You can know it’s science and still be absolutely furious about it when the girls post that pic you looked busted in.
