Happy Hell is Freezing Over Day?
5 things we'll do in our business when hell freezes over (it's not and we won't)
I have questions and the first one is why…
but Happy Hell is Freezing Over Day, I guess?
5 things we’ll do in our business when hell freezes over:
#1. Not have a coach
Do you realize that you have never really seen yourself? Mirrors, cameras, and reflections are all that we have. They show a similar image but we will never TRULY see ourselves how others see us. It keeps me up at night. Running a business without a coach is pretty similar. You built it, you run it, you know where it’s been, you dream of where it’s going… AND it is impossible for you to see it how your prospects and clients see it. Working with a coach who has looked at our business head-on, for what it is, has illuminated tiny gaps and gaping holes that we never would have spotted otherwise. We’ll ditch a trusted outside perspective when hell freezes over.
#2. Call our income passive
Passive income is defined as “a type of unearned income that is acquire with minimal labor to earn or maintain.” Has anyone who calls a sales funnel passive ever built a sales funnel is what I need to know. One time we went to sleep and woke up with $135k worth of sales and that still wasn’t passive. They just happened to click the link while we were snoozing. Funnels run in the background of our business, sure AND we meet once a week to see how those pages and ads are performing and sometimes we have to scrap it and start over. We’ll stop EARNING it when hell freezes over.
#3. Delegate conversations
If delegation has a single fan, it’s us. If delegation has no fans, we have passed away. You will never met a group of gals who loves to delegate more. Laundry, dishes, childcare, cooking, video editing, graphic design… Hand it all over. Everything except your prospect and client conversations. It is critical to your success in sales (and business in general, TBH) that you know what the people are talking about. When you get a DM with a question, answer the question and then create content around the question to post publicly. One person asked, 10 others were thinking it. A sure-fire to way to be sure none of your content hits is to sit in your think tank all day and shell it out without talking to the people it’s for. We’ll give up talking to YOU when hell freezes over.
#4. Run discounts
My uncle buys a TV every couple of years and it’s always in November. I stock up on my favorite facial cleanser the last weekend in May. Conditioning your customers to wait for your discounts can be detrimental. It's like Hobby Lobby. Every other week, they do 50% off of basically everything in the store. And guess what? You better believe I don't even walk into the store unless I know they are doing 50% off of the items I need. Why would I? I can get half off in just a few days. Being upfront and consistent with your price allows the right people to intentionally save and make a way because they know exactly what to expect - starting them out with a win and setting them up to continue winning. We’ll start treating prospects like Old Navy does us when hell freezes over.
#5. Give a paid service or program for free
Man, this seems harsh. Believe me when I say, it hasn’t always been this way. Back in the early days, we would’ve given every seat away because we knew our prospects were amazing and deserved it and we couldn’t wait to see everyone win so incredibly big. Except that’s not what happened. This is an actual stat: 0 people who have been gifted a paid program that we’ve offered have completed it. Studies show that people actually place a higher value on something they own, rather than what they don’t own… even if it’s the exact same thing. That means that someone could hear the exact same information - once for free and once paying for it - and they will value AND RETAIN the paid version more than the free one. If you’re in a situation that you know feels like an exception, offer them the option of putting money down to be reimbursed upon completion. You don’t win if they don’t win. We’ll set someone up for failure when hell freezes over.

🔥 Content Creation Tip: check National Today occasionally to see what interesting, and potentially obscure holidays might be coming up that you could use for content. It’s a little bit like exploring an estate sale. Things may be a little too quirky and you can’t get out quickly enough or you might find vintage Cartier. A chance we’re willing to take.
