How I Cut 80% of My Work... and Finally Hit 6 Figures

In Collaboration with Ine-Wilme Coetzee

You’re at the Mother’s Day dinner table and Dad leans over asking, “so, what exactly is it you are doing for work right now?”

A very innocent question, but you hesitate because you feel like you are not worthy to call yourself an entrepreneur. If people really knew what was going on in your business, all the tears, all the late nights working on one more reel, one more ManyChat funnel, making less per hour than you made at the corporate job you quit 2 years ago… they would know you are the fraud you feel you are.

You say, “I'm a coach for um, women who… well, I’m starting an online business.” (in your head you tag on: “two years ago.”)

The conversations swirl around you and the voices fade as you start thinking about your business. You listlessly cut through the piece of turkey in front of you, and your stomach drops as you hear this inner dialouge…

'Am I even cut out for this? Am I a real entrepreneur if I'm not succeeding?'

For years, I also questioned who I was as my business struggled. Each failed launch chipped away at my entrepreneurial identity until I barely recognized myself. I have been where you are. I know how gruelling it is, especially if you have decided quitting is NOT an option.

Fast forward to Mother’s Day 2025 (yep that was yesterday!)

My dad asked me (like he does every time I see him), “Ine how is business?” — and instead of dreading the conversation, I answered with a deep confidence and conviction that business has never been better. (Not because of the consistent $10K months, but because I trusted my activities. I trusted my process and I trusted myself as an entrepreneur. Finally.)

You might be thinking, “Ine, what changed?”

I realized about 7 months ago that it wasn’t about WHO I was, but WHAT I was doing. I cut 80% of what was holding me back for years and the result was incredible.

On my son’s 2nd birthday last month I found out that the business had made over 6 figures in the last 12 months. And get this… with less than 4 hours of work daily. The best part: I was the exceptional mother I always wanted to be AND trusted myself in my work.

And here’s how you can have that too because you ARE an entrepreneur. You are just working 80% too hard on the wrong things.

3 Ways to Identify What You're Working 80% Too Hard On

1. Examine Your Energy

Most entrepreneurs track time spent, but never measure energy depleted versus results gained. This misalignment is costing you thousands.

When I analyzed my work through this lens, I discovered I was spending 70% of my energy on tasks generating less than 10% of my revenue. In addition, I applied high performance techniques as a professional cellist to my business and cut working after 2:30pm. I protected my highest energy block of time (5:30-7:30 am) as viciously as I did when I was performing cello on stages several times a week… and it worked.

2. Audit Your Zone of Genius vs. Zone of Competence

You can do many things well, but only a few things exceptionally. Your zone of competence & excellence is where you're probably spending 80% too much time.

I am good at graphic design, Kajabi funnels and could teach the cello in my sleep, but these skills weren't where my highest impact could be. My zone of genius was communicating with emotion (with the cello or with words), business strategy development, and helping entrepreneurs get their first few clients FAST.

Try this: List everything you did last week. Mark each as:

  • ZG (Zone of Genius): You're exceptional AND energized doing it

  • ZE (Zone of Excellence): You're skilled but it’s in your comfort zone

  • ZC (Zone of Competence): Anyone with training could do this

Anything not in your ZG is likely where you're overworking. The first few tasks I got rid of were in my ZC, saving me 15+ hours weekly. (P.S. You can do this even in your first few years of business… and at the end of this email I’ll show you how)

3. Track Your Revenue-Generating vs. Maintenance Activities

The most dangerous trap is mistaking busy work for business growth. In my first year of entrepreneurship, I spent over 7 months “perfecting” my website while my offer ideas sat in my notes app collecting digital dust.

Revenue-generating activities directly lead to sales. Everything else is maintenance. Most entrepreneurs spend 80% of their time on maintenance and wonder why they're not growing.

For me, the shocking realization was that I had been spending less than 30m a day on revenue-generating activities. When I flipped to a daily 2hr focus block on RG tasks while cutting M tasks to under an hour a week, I hit my first $10K month in under 6 months.

Now you are probably thinking, “um… how do I even know what is my highest creative energy time of day, my zone of genius or a revenue generating activity… That’s what I have BEEN trying to figure out and it’s not working. I just feel so stuck in business right now.”

I have a surprise for you! I created a brand new workshop called From Stuck to Scaling: The 20% Strategy for $10K Months (Without the painful trial and error period). You will get answers fast with this practical workshop! In addition to that, when you show up live, I will give you my 3x1 PreLaunch Formula which is exactly how I launched a brand new offer (in a new niche) in just 22 days, creating a 17x leap in my business.

This is for the entrepreneur still saying for 2 years "I'm trying something new" when Dad asks them, "so, what exactly do you do...?" You will discover how to scale with ease using elite performance secrets I mastered as a professional cellist, now translated for your business journey.

One of my clients applied what I teach in this workshop to her business and in just 12 days she had launched a YouTube channel, created her sales funnel for her life coaching offer AND was getting new qualified leads everyday. She is now a more present mother to her 2 middle-schoolers and said confidently to me last week, “I can see our lake home coming into reality now.”
