How to Be in the Top 5% of the Population By This Time Next Year

According to the Rule of 100

I wanna do that thing but not be super good at it on purpose and improvement doesn’t matter to me at all. I actually hope to stay the same level of mediocre to bad.

- absolutely none of us

A human’s desire to get better at things they care about isn’t just jargon for the overly-competitive. The desire for mastery is innate. We’re born with it.

If you want to master something (see above: you do), there’s probably a lot of ways you can do it. What I’d like to offer you is a proven path that is so simple it’s scary.

There’s something called the Rule of 100.

According to the Rule of 100, if you spend 100 hours per year in any discipline, you will be better at that discipline than 95% of the population.

100 hours per year is 18 minutes per day.

Learning, improving, practicing, failing… 18 minutes a day for 365 days.

… to be better at it than 95% of the world.

For important context, an episode of The Office with no commercials is 22 minutes.

Cross stitching, boxing, calligraphy, selling, writing, speaking, running, cooking…

Now if you could be in the top 5% of anything (you literally can… this isn’t even hypothetical…), what would you pick? Reply and let us know.

Then get started… because anything you want is just 100 hours and 365 days away.

Xo, The Salesgirls

PS. Raise your hand if you’re in the top 5% of people who fold clothes because if it’s not actually 100 hours then it just really feels like it and I did not ask for this and WHERE do the socks even go?
