According to my For You Page, I can’t get enough of it. And if I know anything it’s that a For You Page never lies.

You watch 3 seconds too many of a Dairy Queen cake being frosted ONE TIME and it’s suddenly who you are now.

RushTok isn’t for everyone, but there may be something we can all take from it.

(Besides the fact that college students have more money than us now apparently wth???)

Resident Gen-Z, former Zeta and Social Media Salesgirl Social Editor, Lindsay, is here to break it down.

It’s easy to roll your eyes at the over-the-top recruitment videos—especially when these girls are rocking outfits that cost as much as my entire paycheck. LIKE WHO BOUGHT YOU DAVID YURMAN?

But before you dismiss it all as childish fluff, there ARE some serious lessons we can take from sorority szn.

So, what can you, a millennial entrepreneur, learn from sorority recruitment?

#1. People Judge a Book By it’s Cover

Sororities know that you only get one shot to make a first impression, and they nail it, almost, every time. From the perfectly coordinated outfits to the themed decorations, everything is designed to leave a lasting impact.

Just like in business, where it takes only 1/10th of a second to form an impression, your branding needs to be on point to attract and keep customers. What will make people want to stop and scroll when they see your next IG reel. Or what is going to garner their attention when you decide to announce your next event?

You can think people don’t judge a book by it’s cover but science and psychology really said BET.

#2. Branding, Branding, and you guessed it, Branding

Whether it's matching tees or their color scheme, sororities are pros at consistent branding. They reinforce their identity with every detail, and it works. This ensures that PNMs (potential new members) know what the chapter is all about before they even take a step foot inside.

Take a note from their playbook—ensure your branding is cohesive across all platforms to build a strong, recognizable identity.

A brand people want to be a part of.

#3. Communication Is Everything

Sororities are all about clear messaging—they know exactly who they are and what they stand for… and they make sure everyone else does too. In business, your messaging should be just as clear and aligned with your values.

It’s not a bad thing for you to repel people who aren’t a good fit. If you’re serving everyone, you’re serving no one.

These sorority events aren’t just a fashion show, they’re a masterclass in active listening SO THAT THEY CAN maintain their strong message. Sorority members listen closely to the interests and stories of potential new members. They aren’t afraid to say ‘no’ when it’s not a good fit, and you shouldn’t be either.

#4. Adapt to Trends

From work week themes to bid day celebrations, sororities are always on top of the latest trends. (Shoutout to the legendary Adam Sandler Day—if you know, you know.) Just like the college girlies, you need to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to new trends to capture your audience's attention.

Lucky for you, by being a Salesgirl Social subscriber, AKA a Socialite, you’re already exposed to new trends and current events.

Our morning laughs together are BUSINESS, ok!!!

If you think about it, Salesgirl Social is a more fun and more well-rounded sorority of its own? Can I run and jump into one yall’s arms or what?

NVM, I like what we are now.
