The One Metric That Changed How I Create

There’s a special kind of spiral that only happens when you regularly create and put something into the world.

Is this helpful? Is it annoying? Am I just screaming into the void with cute formatting?

I ask myself that question more than I’d like to admit.

“Is this too much? Do people even want this? Would anyone notice if I stopped?”

And then - someone replies.

Not with a dramatic story or long love letter (I welcome those too though if you’re into it).

Just a simple line like: “This helped me.” Or “I really needed that today.”

That’s all it takes to snap me out of it.

Because if the only metric you measured was: Did this help one person?

You’d be shocked how often the answer is yes.

You can switch up the format. Try a new hook. Experiment with platforms and frequencies.

But if what you put into the world helps one single person, I have news.

You do have a choice in how you show up. But you do not have a choice in whether you do.
