Today I’m headed to Boise for a mastermind event. If I’m being honest? Staying home sounds so much easier.
Easter baskets aren’t going to fill themselves. My son turns 2 Friday… cupcakes for the class! Make sure there’s no peanuts! I literally hate airplanes? The time change will have me up at 3am twiddling my thumbs.

Only a man would schedule a mastermind the week before Easter I fear
But I’m still getting on the plane.
Because here’s what I know to be true: One conversation can change everything.
It’s already happened once.
The last time I was in the room with this group, we walked away with a strategy that will save us hundreds of thousands of dollars in time. (That’s not an overstatement, might even be an understatement.)
That one conversation changed the way we work - and honestly, the way we think.
None of that would have happened if I had stayed home because I was too busy.
But don’t take it from me…
3 science-based reasons choosing the harder thing is one of the best things you can do for your life:
It rewires your brain for resilience.
Research shows stepping outside your comfort zone strengthens your brain’s resilience, making you stronger and more confident for future challenges. Every time you do the hard thing, you're building the kind of backbone and self-trust that other girls wish they had.It increases your creativity.
New people and environments trigger the kind of brain activity that leads to your biggest, most creative ideas. Nothing has ever cured writer’s block like standing up and walking away from the Google Doc. Go do something! It speeds up success.
Studies show that people who regularly pursue "difficult-but-valuable" experiences achieve their goals in less time than those who prioritize ease. Hard things aren’t punishment. They’re a portal.
And if I’m being really honest, the biggest shifts in my life have never come from the easy choice. They’ve come from the one that stretched me, even when (read: especially when!!!) it would’ve been easier to stay in my bubble.

My preferred location and activity
That’s why I’m showing up in Boise today. Not because it’s perfect timing, but because it’s important timing.
I’m betting on the conversation I haven’t had yet. The idea I can’t even imagine yet. The door that’s only going to open because I’m willing to knock.
If you’re weighing a decision right now… wondering if it’s worth the effort, the energy, the time… here’s your sign:
It rarely feels convenient. It always feels worth it.
