We Got Styled in Las Vegas for Our Sales Event

We flew to Vegas last week to spend 3 days with an expert stylist who specializes in dressing men and women for sales events.

(If you’re new, you can catch up in 4 minutes here.)

Salesgirls, meet our new bestie, Bart.

He looks cool, right? Some of that is because he is cool. Very cool.

The other part of that is because he’s wearing what learned is called a “Rockstar Outfit.”

Rockstar outfits are your for your WOW moments. They’re your pinnacle outfit for getting attention. A signature look.

Think: the first time you walk on stage at an event.

Very different from your teaching outfits and your selling outfits…

I wish I could give the details on the different types of outfits, what to do and what to absolutely not do… But it would take a course, not a single edition in a weekday newsletter.

Today, let’s look at two things:

#1. The Single Most Impactful Piece None of Us Had in Our Closets

#2. 7 Things We Loved but Didn’t Buy

The single most impactful piece that none of us had in our closets…

Give it up for the pocket square!!!

Everyone loves a good power blazer. You probably have one that makes you feel unstoppable, as blazers do. It’s science.

What we weren’t prepared for was the power of adding a colorful pocket square.

In fact, the picture above is Macy telling Bart that she would’ve never used one “in a million years.”

Same.

Until we saw it in action and learned that, if the goal is to keep your audience focused and attentive to you as the speaker (that is definitely the goal), then you need to do your part in giving them things in the right places to pay attention to.

Kinda crying at all the times we’ve unknowingly sabotaged with over the top shoes while teaching.

We didn’t know!!!

The pocket square, paired with a good lipstick and nails that tie in cohesively, is the trifecta. All these points of interest keep the attention UP, right where you want it.

Hear Bart say it better and watch it all click for Macy in this video.

Kat slayed this look hard and may go for it one day when she doesn’t have 3 kids under 6 to touch her after eating pizza.

Just didn’t have the right size, no notes.

Bart told Macy she actually needed to be a touch more casual at certain times. Gen Z has us on the hunt for some stylish cargos.

Someone needs this, it just wasn’t us.

The only item that stopped everyone just from seeing it in the window. Chef’s kiss.

Still thinking about these.

Crowd favorite that Kat couldn’t pull the trigger on.

You’ll start to hear (and see) more of these fashion-that-sells principles come to life in real-time around here.

Until then, it seems like a good time to remind you that we only met Bart and got to experience being styled in Las Vegas because we were in a room of high level people and struck up a conversation.

You’re always only one conversation away.
