I need to hire someone, but don't have the money...

but I won't have the money till I have the help of hiring someone....

I need to hire someone to be able to do more and make more money, but I need to do more and make more money before I can afford to hire someone.

When to hire, especially for the first time, is one of the most inevitable hurdles in business. You will only be able to go so far alone. If that’s as far as you were trying to go anyways, perfect! You’re all set.

If you know that it’s gonna be hire or drown before long - I’d like to share a piece of advice from our CEO.

Someone asked this question on Instagram last week:

“How to build a team of incredible women when you don’t have the $ for a salary?”

I can answer a lot of questions, but I can’t answer that one. So I took it straight to the source. Macy, the OG Salesgirl and CEO, who built the team.

We’ve had as many team members as 11 and as few as 1. Right now, we are operating more fluid and efficiently than ever with 7 team members full time, plus a couple of contractors.

Here’s how she answered it:

“Omg the Lord Jesus amen.”

JK, she did say that first, but the next message said this:

“One of the best things someone told me was ‘you don’t pay someone their whole yearly salary at once. Just a little bit every other week.’ That mindset helped me so much to hire the first person.

I certainly don’t know everything about team building. What I do know is that stallions run with stallions. That’s why it’s critical to have A Players only. A Player mindset, attitude and effort.”

I don’t know who needs to hear this but a $60,000 annual salary is about $2,300 every other week.

If a hire bought you 2 hours per day that you typically spend doing admin tasks, you’d get back 10 hours per week.

I have to believe that with 20 hours extra hours added into your weeks and assuming you’re doing the right things (ahem, needle-moving activities), you would not only make that $2,300 but far, far more.

That’s the only time we prefer real math over Girl Math, TYSM for asking.
