"Nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so."

How a college basketball coach perfectly demonstrated this principle over the weekend

Shakespeare famously said, “nothing is good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”

The principle was demonstrated in a much less cryptic way over the weekend by University of South Carolina Women’s Basketball Coach, Dawn Staley.

The queen… oops, I mean Coach… guided her team to a primetime top 10 win at LSU.

And, as you can imagine, the opposing crowd was less than hospitable. It’s why we love sports and also I would crumble if someone yelled at me?

When asked about it in the post-game press conference, she gave an answer that deserves a spot in The Louvre. Or at least a spot on a Post-It note on my computer.

Reporter: “The crowd wasn’t very friendly to you.”

Dawn Staley: “Actually they were. They were calling me boo.”

May we all find it in us to not take everything so personally.

To let a thing or 20 roll off our backs.

To… dare I say… be able to laugh about it?

I was already cutting out Dawn’s picture for my vision board when I saw that she wore a ‘BOO’ sweatshirt to their game yesterday.

The level of petty and unbothered that I aspire to be.

Dawn knows that if no one is boo-ing you… you aren’t even in the game.

(And why is it always the spectators that have something to say? But that’s a conversation for another day. 😮‍💨)

Proud to be playing. And you should be too.

Love ya, boo.

AMERICAN AIRLINES

Did you hear? Karma is the guy on the SUPER BOWL BOUND Chiefs.

Made official last night around 6:30pm, American Airlines wasted absolutely no time in taking advantage of the Taylor Swift Effect when they created a new flight from Kansas City to Super Bowl host city, Las Vegas…

The outgoing flight number? AA 1989. Taylor’s iconic album and well-known birth year.

The return flight from Vegas to Kansas City? AA 87. Travis Kelce’s jersey number.

Totally unnecessary and perfectly executed.

Bravo, American Airlines.

While I print Dawn’s picture for my vision board, I’m printing this one for my mantle
